It also serves as a tool for educating staff and the general public on the recognition and prevention of zoonotic diseases.</p>

	The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Tracing Guidelines are a preparedness resource that provide guidance for official response personnel on surveillance, epidemiology, and tracing principles for animal health emergency deployments. This includes: detecting new and existing cases (animals or premises), understanding characteristics of the disease and the outbreak, identifying risk factors associated with disease occurrence, providing information for decision-making to design and implement disease control measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of the control measures implemented.</p>
