The Practicum

All students must complete a 200 contact-hour practicum, where they demonstrate skills related to public health and veterinary medicine. Students have the option of presenting orally to a committee or a poster presentation (spring/fall semesters only). Practicum projects have included:

  • “Get In the Groove” 2005 Iowa 4-H Youth Conference: The Development and Delivery of an Educational Awareness Program on the Topic of Veterinary Public Health for Iowa 4-H Youth
  • Animal Bite Injuries and Veterinary Professionals
  • Utilizing the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System for Tracking Latent TB Infection in Nebraska
