The Introduction to Animal Emergency Management Course is divided into ten sections, delivered either through a self-study web module or a webinar with a live presenter and opportunities for audience interaction.
This web module, Overview of Animal Emergency Management, is the first section of the course. This web module should be completed prior to participation in other sections of the course.
Upon completion of this module you should be able to:
- List the basic emergency concerns pertaining to pets and other animals
- List the hazards that may impact pet owners and their animals
- Briefly describe the statutory and policy basis for Federal, State, Tribal and local emergency management efforts pertaining to pets and other animals
- List basic animal responsibilities for Emergency Support Functions 6, 8, 9, 11 and 14 under the National Response Framework.
