The Incident Command System (ICS) is a standardized, on-scene, incident management
concept. ICS uses an integrated organizational structure to meet the complexities
and demands of single or multiple incidents without being hindered by jurisdictional
boundaries. This course provides an introduction into ICS, its organizational
structure, and the role of participants using the system. |

This course expands on the ICS 100 course by providing further detail into
the ICS. Students will learn how ICS is used in an agricultural
disaster-related scenario.

This course builds on the ICS 200 course and presents a more in depth look at the ICS and the vital role that the students can play. ICS 300 provides training and resources for personnel who will hold supervisory positions within ICS. |

The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is a in-depth, national
approach to incident management that is applicable at all jurisdictional levels
and across multiple disciplines. This course provides the basis for understanding
NIMS and how it improves coordination and cooperation between public and private
entities in a variety of situations. |

Core Training
CE credits : 4hrs*
This course is composed of audio Flash presentations that describe the organization
of the Iowa Veterinary Rapid Response Team and how it is incorporated into
the response of a disease outbreak disaster, whether it be local, regional,
or national. The audio presentations are supplemented with pictures, graphs,
and maps which illustrate and underline the points being discussed.
