Veterinarians: Resources for Equine Facilities
Due to today’s mobile society, the risk of disease introduction is increasing. Horses can travel great distances, including internationally, for show, race, breeding, or sale. However, few farm or facility owners have plans in place or understand the basic practices that can be implemented to minimize the risk of infectious agents to their animals. Biological risk management plans are designed with the individual facility in mind; one size does not fit all.
